Netflix & Chill – Grassroots style!

Notes

Another interesting weekend of mixed cup & league action. Highlights for me is the monumental Senior Division clash at the Pyramids between JK Silvertown & Barkingside. Any defeat in this competition could spell doom for claiming the big prize, so expect this to go the distance at full speed.

FC Leytonstone and Gants Hill need to get back to playing football, something they are both very adept at, and each face tricky matches against similarly charged opponents. I don’t think there’ll be much in these games on Sunday.

In Division Two, each match offers a balance that means none of them is easy to call. Runaway leaders Bretons Manor will find Sher Force very much the hardest of challenges. Even Barking Colts (at BSL) will be up to the task this Sunday.

In the Premier Cup, Essex Minors, fresh from a win last time out, face a South Ilford team looking to refresh their season. I know they love a cup tournament, so be prepared to see the effort go into this one. Red Star host Debden Sports, both teams have experienced cup finals in recent memory, so know what’s required. It’s a tough ask for Martin and his boys though.

There’s one game in the Charlie White Group Stage as Global host the struggling Loxford Lions. There’s a lot of respect for Clement and his charges and if he manages to get a team out, they’ll be hoping to gain a bit of confidence in a very tough game indeed.

And finally, best wishes to Newbury Forest as they take on Little Waltham in the Essex Sunday Junior Trophy. Bring it home lads. We are right behind you.
