WORTHY CHAMPIONS - A GREAT SEASON
SFN Secure Title in Style
Five Goal Salvo Delivers Title & Promotion to SFN
A dominant & well-deserved 5-1 over Belfry Reserves allowed SFN to finally put both hands on the trophy. A wonderful season has been capped off with the recognition that their objectives were well & truly matched at the start of the season. It's one thing to promise, but an entirely different proposition considering the strength of the other teams in the division that has pushed them all the way.
It may not seem like it, but perhaps the achievement of the day belongs to Barking Colts, holding form team Horse & Well to a 0-0 draw. Well played the lads. In the only other game, Essex Minors v Sher Force, both teams shared the goals and the points in a thrilling 3-3 draw.
This week, Barking Colts face new champs SFN and will look to better their recent narrow defeat to the same team. Hainault will be tasked with stopping Horse & Well as they continue their assault on the promotion places. Sher Force & Cardinals meet in the only other game, looking to head into the off-season with confidence.
"We Are Back in the Race!"
Could be heard loud & clear over social media as JK Silvertown took an impressive 3-1 win at Global. The magnitude of this latest result means there is the smallest chance that JK could still actually land the title.
These are the scenarios
Walthamstow Red Star - Will win the title with a win in their final game this weekend at Weare Utd
Barkingside - Will win the title with a Walthamstow loss or draw, providing they beat Weare Utd in their only remaining game.
JK Silvertown - Will win the title with a win in their last game vs Newbury Forest, plus a defeat for both Walthamstow & Barkingside in their final games. Anything less than a win for both sides will need a 4 goal winning margin for the lads from E16 to usurp Red Star, at least. Barkingside are scheduled to meet Weare Utd next week.
Final whistle of the Jimmy’s 1st game in charge, him and the chairman share a hug ❤️😂

Loxford Lions Deal Blow to Hillford
The top two met in a gigantic clash last weekend and the Lions emerged 1-0 victors following a monumental game. This result elevated them to the top of the table, albeit having played more games. Hillford tasted defeat for the very first time this season and will be hoping this is a temporary blip on their way to reclaiming top spot in due course.
Debden Sports returned to winning ways in an impressive 3-0 win over BSL, who played really well despite the result. When you can't buy a break, results will always go against you.
In the late game, Newbury Forest won an absolute gem of a game by the odd goal in five at South Ilford Catholics as they continue to pepper the top spots and worry the top two.
This week, Hillford travel to Flamengo looking to return to P1 on the grid. Loxford Lions entertain BSL, hoping that the visitors do not find the rhythm thats just out of their grasp at present. And in the last game, Newbury Forest Reserves meet Debden, two form teams collide and many neutrals will make be eagerly awaiting this match as both teams are becoming the powerhouses that recent results have proven.
After last weeks 4-4 draw, credit to the opposition today, their GK MOM and we left our shooting boots at home in torrential weather, losing 1-0.
First league loss since September 2019 and last loss in cup was November 2019. We move on and hope to bounce back next week. pic.twitter.com/y79d8ECSmB
